Well, the past week has been spent getting back to everything normal. Such as watching a little bit of television, going to the gym, conversing with real people, not one's that are in my head, ahahaha... Sad but true.
Being in writer mode means, as I've said before, being somewhere else completely, telling the story of the characters as they see it and for me to be able to do that, I need complete silence. I'm not one of these writers who can listen to music or have background noise. If there are those types of disturbances, then I'm not able to listen to the characters properly and I most certainly am not able to be in their world, therefore won't be able to write their story as it should be.
Why am I bringing this up? Well its an explanation as to why this blog, along with marketing and not being around all that much, fell to the wayside. Don't get me wrong, all those things are important because they are what brings me my readers and the readers are the most important thing to me. Unfortunately, on the other side of that, if I don't write a good story then I wouldn't have any readers. Hmm! That's right along the same lines as "what came first, the chicken or the egg?".
Have a great day.

Now I'm Lost
Well, Saydi and Nathanael are officially at the publishers under review and I can't help but to feel lost now. It's hard to see them go, especially when they were so much part of my life. However, their story has been written down and they have left the stage for now... Something tells me we'll be seeing them again because they haven't left the building.
Now I'm not certain who will take the stage next, but rest assured it will be good -- someone left the back door open again and some others have trotted through it, standing at the back of line waiting for their chance to be heard. Yes it's going to get very interesting.
Have a great day.

Saydi and Nathanael
Well, it's been a wacky couple of months, but Saydi and Nathanael are in the home stretch. Wings has asked for the manuscript and I will be submitting it in the next couple of days once my editor, Melanie Saxton and I go through it quickly one more time. If anyone is looking for an excellent editor who will go above and beyond to make your work a masterpiece, then Melanie is who you are looking for.
I must say I'm very proud and excited about this novel. It is a Young Adult, Paranormal/Fantasy Romance with an interesting bunch of twists. So much so, there is a stack of notes about two to three inches thick by my computer, that I had to write down to keep track of what was happening, where people were, and what people could do (yes they have powers), it was confusing at times, but with the way it turned out, it was well worth it.
However, what excites me the most, is how well the characters developed through it all, I really like them and I hope you will too.
Have a great day.

Battle Wounds
It's been a hectic couple of weeks, my battle wounds are fresh. Are you wondering what I'm talking about? Let me explain. When Absolute was written, all I had to do was focus on writing, there was no blogs, websites, marketing, PR, none of that had to be done, Michael and Rose had my full attention.
These past couple of weeks, I found myself spinning my wheels trying to keep up with it all and still write Saydi's and Nathanael's story, it wasn't working, so I made an executive decision -- I had to focus on them and them only, letting everything else fall behind. In other words, my battle wounds. I'm paying for it now trying to get things caught up, but I will tell you, they were worth it. I'm excited for them to have you read their story.
Have a great day.

A Mind Change
First off let me apologize, I know the blog has been quite sporadic lately, you can blame Saydi and Nathanael. Now, having said that...
As I was going through another round of edits, there was a scene that was bothering me, so I changed it... Argg! What was I thinking? Changing a scene after a book is completed is like going back in time and changing your mind. Think about it... if you made a different decision and went a different way, what happens? Everything after that moment changes and that's essentially what I did. With the small scene change, emotions were different, the outcome of certain things switched, peoples' attitudes towards each other went from good to bad or depending on who they were, bad to good. Some fighting stopped, others escalated. The list goes on and on... Not my brightest moment, though I do like the scene better.
Then last night I couldn't help but think how close to real life changing that scene was -- how a simple decision could have such a different impact on your life. Here's hoping we always make the right ones.
Have a great day.

Tis the Season
How many of you have all your Christmas decorations up? I'm not one of you, but this weekend is slated just for that.
However, I noticed some people had their trees up by the middle of November and have you noticed how the stores start playing Christmas music and have their decorations up practically the day after Halloween?
I love Christmas as much as the next person, but it seems to me with all the running around, buying gifts, food, all in preparation for the season, sometimes we lose sight of what it's truly about. Not that we do it on purpose, but sometimes the meaning gets lost in the shopping cart that is overflowing with gifts. For me, I'm going to try extra hard this year to remember -- it's about giving, not of material gifts, but of one's self.
Have a great day
